Jalebi is a delicious Indian dessert.
Ingredients: 30 -35 pieces
*200gm Sugar
*200gm Plain flour
*20gm Gram flour
*2 drops food color (yellow or saffron)
*Ghee to deep fry
*2 tbsp milk
*A plastic bottle (bottom holed) or cloth to easy squeeze.
Preparation:
1.Seive 100gm maida and besan together.Make a batter using warm water.Keep aside for 24 hours.
2.Add remaining maida and food color and more water if required.The batter should fall easily when poured - not too thick not too thin.Keep aside.
3.Make sugar syrup.Add the milk and all the scum to form while boiling.Make one string syrup strain.
4.Fill Bottle with batter.Heat ghee well in a shallow frying pan and form jalebis in the form of concentric circles.Fry till crisp then drop into hot syrup.Drain with a perforated spoon.Serve hot.
